UI Redesign: Introducing Salesforce Cosmos

We Refreshed Our Visual Design – Here’s How It Helps You Work Faster. Salesforce Cosmos, our new Lightning user interface design, is modern and improves the navigation, speed to task, and approachability for diverse users.
Improved organization and harmony:
The streamlined navigation, simplified icons, at-a-glance views, adaptable spacing, and inviting cues are examples of how the new visual style makes it possible for you to move more seamlessly through the app. You can transition quickly from task to task, with digestible bites of information that ease cognitive load.
Clear indicators of success and prioritization:
Intentional use of colors, contrast, space, and icons help make data and the stage of opportunities pop. Clearly differentiated button states (default, hover, active) and other indicators help reduce time-consuming errors.
Improved performance and load times
Reducing distracting images and optimizing the CSS code are examples of ways we’re maximizing compatibility across operating systems and devices. These steps allow new efficiencies and greater predictability.
Improved approachability and accessibility
Making sure that our design adheres to web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG), accommodates users with a range of abilities, and can adapt to a range of neurodiversity needs is among our commitments. While it’s harder to quantify, don’t underestimate the value of delight – the fun touches and sense of accomplishment – to make your users enjoy their experience more.
Questel Services Portal (QSP) integration in Equinox Corporate+
What this integration delivers
Service ordering inside EC+ (from the patent case): request Translation-only estimates (71(3) Claims, EP/UP, Direct Filing, PCT National Phases) and later convert the estimate into a Project (service execution).
Direct sync with QSP API for estimate/project creation & updates; avoids manual rekeying and reduces errors. Known Jurisdiction field issues are tracked in the QSP docs space.
Request an Estimate from a Patent case
From a patent record, click Filing/Translation order, complete the form (Service Type=Estimate, Project Type=Translation Only, Filing Type=71(3) Claims or EP/UP, Source/Target languages, Jurisdictions, Special Instructions).
EC+ calls QSP, stores returned estimate details, estimated costs per jurisdiction, and estimation files (PDF/XLS) as Salesforce Files.

Convert an Estimate to a Project
On the Estimate record, click Convert to Project. A modal collects: Requested Deadline, Additional Recipients, Deliver To Agent (+ agent/contact per jurisdiction), Ref. Numbers, Documents and Special Translation Instructions.
EC+ calls QSP convert-on-estimate, then GET project to hydrate the local Project.
The Project UI shows Project/Service details, dates & deadlines (e.g., 97(1) dates), agent per jurisdiction, status, total price, and related files (avoid duplication—reuse case files when possible).
Per-jurisdiction estimated cost is taken from the saved Estimate; QSP project response does not include it.

Once you click to "Convert To Project", you have to populate extra fields to create the project, meaning that the order will be placed

Admin & configuration checklist
Ensure Named Credentials/QSP credentials are configured for the synchronous callouts (estimate, convert, project CRUD).
Schedule QSPReferenceValueBatch (monthly) and QSPUpdateEstimateStatusBatch (per agreed cadence).
Confirm Salesforce Files is the document store for estimate PDFs/XLS; S-Drive not required in this scope.
Expose quick actions and layouts on Patent for: Filing/Translation order, Estimate, and Project UIs.
Import patent from PTO
You can now create a Patent by searching PTO data (via iOrbit), selecting the correct result, and having Equinox auto-populate the Patent with PTO metadata.
From the patent list view: click on "Import from PTO"
Step 1 — Run the search
Click Search. The system queries iOrbit using:
- Country
Application Number Or Publication Number
Tip: If you see unexpected results, double-check number
Step 2 — Review results
If < 10 results, you’ll see a table with:
Title
Application Date
Status
Applicant
Orbit Express
Select exactly one result (radio). Next is disabled until one is selected. If there’s only one result, it’s selected automatically.
If > 10 results, an error message is shown and you can refine/retry. If no results, the UI indicates none found.

Step 3 — Finalize linkage (Family & Applicant)
You’ll see a summary (Title, Country, Applicant), then:
Family – Select an existing Family or create a new Family on the fly.
Applicant (Account) – Choose:
Use existing account – pick the Account via lookup to create the linked Entity on the Patent, or
Create a new account – defaulted from the Applicant value; you can edit the name before creation.

Step 5 — Create the Patent
On Create, EC+ builds the Patent and auto-populates fields from iOrbit:
Title
Status
Priority Date
Application Date
Application Number
Publication Date
Publication Number
Grant Date / Number
Expiry Date
National Number
Number of Claims
Orbit Intelligence Link
Register
Latest publication
Images
Plus, EC+ will:
Associate the Family you selected/created.
Create a new Entity record on the Patent with the chosen Account, Primary Entity = checked, and Ownership Type = Owner.
Redirect you to the new Patent and show a success toast.
IDS Analyzer
The IDS Analyser lets you quickly check if you need to file an additional IDS on your US application.
For each published U.S. application, this module analyses citations already known to the U.S. office (by automatically importing patents from previously filed IDS, office actions, etc.) and compares them with citations from all members of the patent family. It will help you automatically detect prior art that may have been cited to the USPTO and, if necessary, generate the IDS to comply with US patent regulations.
The IDS analyser has three major objectives and lets you:
Verify if prior art cited in other family members' procedures have already been correctly submitted to the USPTO
Verify and monitor the interest in submitting new prior art by providing access to patent descriptions
Facilitate the generation of a new IDS by pre-filling the IDS Generator fields
Sources used for the citation analysis
The system uses Questel's Orbit Intelligence database.
The CT field is used to list the citations
Importing citation from previously filed IDS
The FAMPAT grouping is used as a basis to list the members of the families to be analysed.
This module is accessible for each US patent in the patent links:

Note: You can only launch the analysis when the patent has been published.
Trademark Renewals (IP Portal API) Manage historical laws
A Trademark renewals engine that replaces static Renewal Rules with live deadlines from Questel’s IP Portal API. EC+ consumes the API and creates/maintains Renewal Tasks (plus a reminder task) on the Trademark case, and keeps Next Renewal Date up to date.
Why it matters
Accuracy: Renewal dates come from a central rules service; allowing the management of historical laws.
Automation: Tasks are created automatically on case create, on demand from the case, or in batch from the list view.
Governance: Closed/deleted duplicates are handled consistently; trademark fields Last Renewal Task Process (Date/Status/Error) capture processing trace.
How it works (at a glance)
On creation: EC+ sends the Trademark’s key dates and country to IP Portal; creates 3 Renewal Tasks + 1 reminder, only for due dates ≥ today.
On demand (record page button): users open a modal showing the next 3 upcoming renewals (from API) and any existing open renewal tasks; they must choose to Close or Delete existing ones before creating new. Success/error toasts and field updates follow.
Batch (list view): Admin/Questel Admin queues a batch; EC+ creates X + 1 tasks per eligible TM, closes or deletes existing open renewals per setting, updates process fields, and sends notification + CSV email report.
When dates change: if App/Reg/Priority/Publication changes (or become populated), EC+ closes open renewal tasks and recreates a fresh set from API (excluding Madrid National Right/Subsequent Designation).
Next Renewal Date field: always mirrors the earliest future open Renewal Task due date; clears when the last renewal is completed.
The new modal triggered by the record button "Generate Renewal Tasks"

Multi-Column Sort in List Views
Multi-column sort lets you sort any list view by up to 5 columns. It’s on by default in Winter ’26 and sorting preferences are per-user and persist until you change or reset them.

How to use it
Open any list view
Click Column Sort (button near Filters in the list view header).
In the modal, add up to 5 fields with ASC/DESC direction. Drag to reorder if needed.
Click Apply. The header will show a brief description of the active sort; arrows appear on sorted columns.
Columns available: Users can only sort by columns visible in the list view.
