Managing and Completing Tasks in Equinox Corporate+

Equinox Corporate+ offers a streamlined way to manage your day-to-day tasks—whether you're working individually or as part of a team. This guide walks you through completing tasks, reassigning responsibilities, tracking progress, and using collaboration tools.

Completing a Task

You can complete a task in one of two ways:

  • Change the Status: Update the task’s status field to Completed.
  • Use the “Mark Complete” Button: Click the Mark Complete button at the top right of the task page for a quick action.

Once completed, the task will automatically display the Completed Date/Time, giving you a clear record of when the task was finished.

Assigning Tasks and Using Queues

Tasks can be reassigned at any point using the Assigned To field:

  • Assign tasks directly to individual users.
  • Assign tasks to Queues when multiple users should be able to view and manage them.

This is especially helpful for collaborative teams or when task ownership needs to be flexible.

Adding Remarks and Notes

You can document progress or provide context using two features:

  • Remarks: Add remarks directly in the task to keep a visible and reportable record.
  • Notes Component(right side of the page): Add informal notes here. Keep in mind:
    • These notes do not appear in list views.
    • These notes are not included in reporting.

Use remarks for anything that needs to be visible in reports or list views.

Using Chatter to Collaborate

Each task includes a Chatter feed where you can:

  • Share updates
  • Ask questions
  • Coordinate on next steps

Chatter allows multiple users to stay informed and collaborate without needing to leave the task record.

Sending Email Notifications

At the bottom of the task page, you'll find the Send Email feature. This is useful for formally notifying key stakeholders such as:

  • Case Managers
  • In-house Attorneys
  • Paralegals
  • Patent Engineers

The email becomes part of the task record, making it easy to maintain a communication trail.

Bulk Task Adjust from Case Pages

On case pages for patents, trademarks, and designs, you can manage multiple tasks at once using the Bulk Task Adjust tool. This lets you:

  • Mark several tasks as completed
  • Reassign multiple tasks at once
  • Add the same note across selected tasks
  • Change due dates

This feature is especially helpful when performing regular clean-up or status updates.
