The Add Office Action / Pre-set feature lets you generate pre-defined groups of tasks associated with an office action or similar event. These task sets—known as pre-sets—are driven by docketing rules that reflect key deadlines for different jurisdictions and case types.

When to Use This

Use this feature any time an event like an office action, issuance, or examination report is received and you want to quickly generate related tasks based on standardized timelines.

Notes:

- Docketing rules and pre-sets are configured by your system administrator. If you don’t see the rule or tasks you need, reach out to your IP admin team.
- The base date may differ depending on the docketing rule (e.g. Filing Date, Office Action Date, Issue Date).
 - Pre-set functionality helps ensure deadlines are consistently applied across cases.
