Creating a Trademark Case
In Equinox Corporate+, efficient management of trademark cases begins with establishing a trademark family and then proceeding to create individual trademark cases within that family. This guide will take you through the process of creating a trademark case, ensuring that you have all the necessary information to initiate effective intellectual property management.
Prerequisite:
Before creating a trademark case, ensure that you have created a trademark family. A trademark family serves as a container for related trademark cases, providing a structured approach to organizing your intellectual property assets.
Step 1: Create a Trademark Family:
Go to the Trademark Families tab in Equinox Corporate+ or click “New Family” in the Family lookup field.
Click the "New" button to start creating a new trademark family.
Fill in the required Family Title field and Family Reference.
Optionally, add any additional information such as Family Status or Currency if necessary.
Click "Save" to create the trademark family.
Step 2: Create a Trademark Case:
Once the trademark family is established, proceed to create individual trademark cases within that family.
Navigate to the Trademark Cases tab in Equinox Corporate+ (or simply keep adding the fields to the trademark case).
Click the "New" button to begin creating a new trademark case.
Select the appropriate trademark family from the dropdown menu to associate the case with the previously created family.
Fill in the required fields for the trademark case:
Trademark Name: Provide a title for the trademark case.
Country: Choose the country associated with the trademark case. Keep in mind you may need to press enter in order to find the countries in the database.
Status: Specify the status of the trademark case (e.g., Open, Pending, Registered, etc.).
Type: Indicate the type of trademark for the case (e.g., Word, Combined, Figurative, 3D, etc.).
Optionally, include additional details such as relevant dates information or any relevant custom fields.
Click "Save" to create the trademark case within the selected patent family.
Additional Tips:
Ensure that you have all necessary information, such as application numbers or filing dates, readily available when creating trademark cases.
Regularly update the status of the trademark cases as they progress through different stages of the trademark lifecycle.
